Education

     We are proud to have Former Congressman and State Board of Education Chair Bob Schaffer, Jefferson County School Board Member Laura Boggs and Education Policy expert Ben Degrow on our team.  If you read the “Meet Justin” section of this website, then you know he feels VERY STRONGLY about school choice.  Whether it is a voucher on the front side or a tax credit on the backside (or both), we need to give parents more options for our children’s education.  When I think of “Local Control”, I see Mom and Dad and the kids sitting around the kitchen table figuring out what school is the best fit.  Moms and Dads know their children better than anyone else.  Moms and Dads love their children more than anyone else.  Moms and Dads first and foremost have their childrens’ best interest at heart, so the ultimate decision on what school to go to should be left up to Moms and Dads.  Government should limit their choices, whether that is a public, private or parochial school.  No family should have to struggle financially to get a quality education.

Four Ideas on Education Reform:

1. Bill to allow vouchers and or tax credits
2. Bill to require transparency in budgeting process and open labor negotiations
3. Bill Eliminate Collective Bargaining (Think Wisconsin)
4. Referendas to eliminate laws that limit parent's choices
