Justin Everett Will Seek Republican Nomination for Treasurer of Colorado in 2018
COLUMBINE, Colo. (April 18, 2017) – State Representative Justin Everett (R-HD22) released the following statement announcing his candidacy for Treasurer of Colorado in the 2018 election cycle:
“Colorado has been my home for nearly 40 years. Throughout that time, I have seen a disturbing trend of our liberty being eroded and the weight of big government being placed on the shoulders of Colorado’s taxpayers. We need someone in the Treasurer’s office who has proven record of leadership that puts taxpayers and common sense before politics,” said Everett.
Justin Everett has represented House District 22 since he was first elected in 2012. He has made his home in Jefferson County since 1978. Everett holds a BA in English from Chapman University, a MBA from CU Denver and a JD from the Sturm College of Law at DU.
“Colorado needs a Treasurer who will work with the PERA board to address the serious shortcomings facing our state pension system, someone who will not take unnecessary risks with our resident’s money and a leader who will be transparent and accountable to the taxpayers.”
Prior to his election as State Representative, Everett ran a small business that specialized in alternative dispute resolution, providing an efficient and cost-effective way for businesses to better manage internal and external disagreements.
“We need to return to the days of fiscally responsible state Government, one that serves to protect our Constitutional rights. Let’s take our state back.”
